In this episode Paul and I pick back up with our ongoing DIsney coverage with a discussion on 'The Fox and the Hound'. We also pause to say goodbye to Carl Weathers (we recorded this the week he died) and to share our thoughts on hunting, particularly fox hunting (spoiler: we're not fans).
This episode- recorded somewhen in 2023- Paul, Kieran and I open the puzzle box that is 1987's 'Hellraiser', the iconic horror from Clive Barker.
Since it's a Bank Holiday in the UK, it seems 100% appropriate for us to return to James Bond franchise today (because- historically- they would always seem to show the films on terrestrial TV on a Bank Holiday) with a conversation between Kieran, Paul and myself on 'For Your Eyes Only' which we recorded in late 2022. A note for historians- Liz Truss was a famously short-lived British Prime Minister in 2022 (she lasted seven weeks in Number 10, though during most of that time the place was shut due to the death of Queen Liz). Oh, and Paul mentions a couple of times a podcast he and I recorded on 'Casino Royal'. In case you wondered if you'd missed this episode, well, you haven't as we never did an episode on that film but I'd love to talk about the '06 'Casino Royal' (the '67 version, not so much) so Paul- call me!
This week's episode was recorded a long time ago (2015) in a galaxy far, far away (Wood Green, North London). What we have here is two Star Wars conversations- with Paul and I discussing 'The Empire Strikes Back' and me and Jev talking about 'Return of the Jedi'- originally released on my OG podcast, the SpielbergPod. And listening back to these, 2015 was an interesting time to be a Star Wars fan as we are all eagerly awaited the release of 'The Force Awakens' and the start of the sequel trilogy (oh, what a journey we were about to begin...).
In this episode- recorded all the way back in 2022 ("The best things come to those who wait" - Heinz Ketchup) - Kieran and I discuss the Martin Scorsese film, 'The King of Comedy', following Kieran's first-time watch of this. You can expect comparisons to 'Taxi Driver' and even more comparisons to 'Joker' from Todd Phillips.
This week Easy Riders Raging Podcast reaches it's landmark 300th episode!!! And to celebrate, my co-host Paul and I are discussing Bruce Robinson's cult classic, 'Withnail and I'. You can expect a lot of quotes (it's a very quotable film) and lots of anecdotes from our past. Here's to the next 300!
In this episode, recorded back in December, I was delighted to be joined by Jeff Morton- host of the fantastic The GenX Show- to discuss the life and career of filmmaker John Carpenter, with particular focus on his 1987 film, 'Prince of Darkness'. This was a great opportunity to continue our ongoing look at Carpenter's movies (we have covered several of his films at this point) and it was great to finally sit down and record an episode with Jeff. I've no idea why we didn't do this sooner but I look forward to bringing him back again for another chat.

In this episode- recorded just before Christmas- I'm joined by not one but two very special guests to discuss a very special film. The film in question- which incidentally turns 40 years old this year(!)- is 'Ghostbusters' from director Ivan Reitman. My fantastic guests are Dave Corkery from The Cinemile podcast and Liam Dempsey, one of the hosts of Spocklight: A Star Trek Podcast. And the three of us are all huge fans of this movie and we could have easily talked for double the length of this episode on our thoughts and feelings for this stone cold classic and the films which have proceeded it (we even touch briefly on 'Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire' which comes out later this year).
This week Paul and I dance with the devil in the pale moonlight by discussing Tim Burton's 'Batman' and Paul is the perfect guest to discuss this film as he's a big fan of The Caped Crusader; so he talks about how he got into the character, his history with the comics, the various movies and we basically have a great chat about a classic comic book movie.

Continuing the Sherlock talk from last week's episode, this time around I have delved into the archives of my original podcast- the SpielbergPod- to the 2015 conversation between myself and Jev on the Barry Levinson film, 'Young Sherlock Holmes' (it was Spielberg produced, that was why we we discussing it then).

In this episode Kieran and I pick back up with our coverage of Michael Apted's Seven Up documentary series, with a conversation about '28 Up' from 1984. One note on this, we recorded this episode ages ago- back in September 2020 (in the period between the first and the second lockdown). Sorry this took so long to go live but it's a great chat. Oh, one more thing- this was the first 1980s episode we recorded (so this is Kieran's first time hearing this series' sign-off at the end).

Since tomorrow is the start of September it feels like a fitting time to end #mysummerofstartrek. Five episodes across which we discussed four films and one classic TV episode. And I have to say, it has been an absolute (phaser) blast. I look forward to returning to the wonderful world of Star Trek in some form on the show.
This time around Paul and I discuss 'Star Trek V: The Final Frontier' from director William Shatner (we had hoped Kieran would join us during the call but unfortunate he couldn't make it). A film we have many many thoughts on.
