Jumping back to the sixities, this is another one of our Patreon episodes (from www.patreon.com/ERRP) that has been moved to the main feed so you can download it for free.
This episode, recorded back in 2020, saw Kieran, Paul and I sit down to discuss the episode 'Free Wheeling to Wheeling' from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon Wacky Races, which include the likes of Dick Dastardly and Muttley and Penelope Pitstop.
In this episode- recorded in mid-April 2023 (this week!)- Jev and I discuss the iconic music video for Bonnie Tyler's 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' from director Russell Mulcahy.
Recorded somewhen in winter 2022 (it must've been days after the first Indiana Jones 5 trailer dropped), this episode sees Paul and I discuss animated film 'When the Wind Blows', based on the book of the same name from Raymond 'The Snowman' Briggs. It's a cheery little film about nuclear Armageddon.
In this episode Kieran, Paul and I break into the world of music videos with a discussion of the iconic semi-animated video for the a-ha song 'Take On Me'. (Oh, just in case it isn't clear we are talking about the film 'Avatar' at the very opening of the episode, with Paul asking me about the sequel. Also, 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' is a British music quiz show, in case this reference is lost on you).
This week I have delved into the archives of my original podcast- the SpielbergPod- with two discussions from 2015 on Don Bluth films. The first was a solo chat on 'An American Tail' (I believe this was my very first attempt at a solo recording) and the second- recorded on New Year's Eve that year- sees Kieran and I discuss 'The Land Before Time'. Two hugely moving animated classics.
In this episode Paul, Kieran and I talk about the 80's Tom Cruise classic 'Top Gun' (from director Tony Scott). We also talk quite a bit about the recent sequel 'Top Gun: Maverick' (and the Hot Shots films) and Paul's love of volleyball.
In this episode- recorded live and in person on Boxing Day (December 26th) 2022 with my sister Amanda- we discuss beloved British sitcom Only Fools and Horses, specifically the episode 'Yuppy Love' which is a key episode for the show, not least because it contains the iconic moment where Del Boy falls through the bar.
It's more TV talk this week as Kieran, Paul and I discuss 'The Queen of Spain's Beard', which is the fourth episode of British sitcom The Black Adder (from Richard Curtis and Rowan Atkinson) as a way to discuss that first series as a whole. (Oh, just to be clear- as I don't think we mention him by name- we're talking about Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in the opening)
In this episode- recorded back in late autumn 2022- I was delighted to be joined by Al Horner, host of the fantastic screenwriting podcast Script Apart, to discuss Stanley Kubrick's horror classic- based on the book of the same name by Stephen King- 'The Shining'.
In this episode- recorded late 2022- Paul and I break into the world of commercials as we discuss the acclaimed 'Photo Booth' Hamlet Cigars advertisement. Please note- this episode was not recorded to promote cigars, Hamlet or otherwise, and we are not sponsored by Hamlet. Smoking kllls people, and we want to underline that point.
In this episode Paul and I discuss the pilot episode to the British children's cartoon show Danger Mouse, entitled 'Rogue Robots'.
In this festive episode- recorded live and in person on Christmas Eve 2022- I sat down with my sister Amanda to discuss the Christmas classic, 'The Snowman', the animated film based on the book of the same name by Raymond Briggs.
In this episode- I think recorded back in the summer of 2021- Kieran and Jev and I discuss the Robert Zemeckis romance-adventure film, 'Romancing the Stone'.
In this episode we kick off season 4 of the show- our long-awaited run on 1980s film and television- as Paul and I discuss James Cameron's sci-fi classic 'The Terminator'. And if you want to hear Kieran and I discuss the sequel 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day', well you my friend, are in luck. You can do so by going to https://www.patreon.com/ERRP where it's available to people supporting the show.
(Oh, this episode contains a spoiler for the TV show Watchmen- which was great BTW- when we get to Recastarama and I guess we also drop spoilers for the other Terminator films- and the first Avatar film- along the way)
Happy New Year listeners! Season 4 of the podcast is coming soon but we here at Easy Riders Raging Podcast want to start your 2023 with a bang and so here's our episode on Sergio Leone's 'A Fistful of Dollars'. This episode was recorded as a Patreon exclusive episode (over at https://www.patreon.com/ErrP) but now it's free to listen to, for your audio entertainment. Enjoy!
Season's greetings everyone! Being that it's the festive season, I figured why not share the love and make public our Patreon episode (formerly an exclusive over at https://www.patreon.com/ErrP) on the Chuck Jones animation 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas!' based on the book by Dr. Seuss. Enjoy!
Hello! It occurred to me that it was five years ago that I uploaded this anecdote packed episode on 'Carry On Camping' to https://www.patreon.com/ErrP. And since that's a nice round number- and we're between seasons- I figured why not upload it to the main feed. Oh and RIP to Dame Barbara Windsor who has sadly passed since the release of the episode. She really was a British institution.
Happy Halloween everyone! Being that it's the season of monsters and darkness, I decided that- while we're between series 3 and 4 of the podcast- I'd share this episode on cult horror-film 'Phantasm', which had formerly been a Patreon exclusive over on https://www.patreon.com/ErrP. Enjoy!
With help from The Projection Booth Podcast, For Your Reconsideration, Is Paul Dano OK? and Caged In, Campbell, Kieran and I say goodbye to the 50s with a long delayed (we recorded this back at the end of the summer of love- 2021) Oscars-style awards ceremony celebrating the best of the decades.
In this episode- recorded I think during that long third wave of COVID- Paul, Kieran and I discuss 'Singin' in the Rain' by Stanley Donen and Gene Kelly. And with this episode we wrap up our run of eps on musical films AND it's also our last 1950s film (for now......). Join us next time for our wrap up episode for season 3- The Easies awards vol. 3!!!
Hello! Here's another one recorded way back in the early days of the pandemic. In this episode- continuing our run on musicals- Kieran and I discuss the Howard Hawks film, 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' starring Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe. (There is one more musical to come after this ep...)
This week's episode- part of our mini-series on 1950s musicals- was recorded back in the early days of the pandemic (around June 2020, I believe). In it we discuss 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers' from director Stanley Donen.
In this episode- recorded live and in-person before the start of the pandemic(!)- Kieran and I discuss the Vincente Minnelli film, 'An American in Paris'. This episode is the first in a run of four in which we focus on the wonderful world of musicals.
In this episode Paul, Kieran and I wrap up our run of episodes covering 1950s Looney Tunes cartoons by discussing the Jones/ Maltese classic, 'Duck Amuck' from 1953.
In this episode Paul, Kieran and I discuss the Barnyard Dawg/ Daffy Duck/ Foghorn Leghorn cartoon 'The High and the Flightly' from director Robert McKimson. We also find time to throw shade at Batman vs Superman, The Defenders and director, Ron Howard.
